Context-Aware M-Health for E-inclusive Living
The idea is motivated by a number of factors including: the pressure on primary healthcare; the increase in chronic conditions; the popularity and improving usability of mobile and wearable devices; the increasingly connected society (in particular The Internet of Things and Smart Homes/Cities); the increasing sophistication of data mining/big data etc.
To research and develop unobtrusive wearable technologies (e.g. integrated in clothing) which monitor vital signs such as heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, stress levels etc. and have an awareness of time, location (by room in a smart home, or in a smart city). This information will be integrated with a new eHealth system where it will be stored (with consent) for analysis purposes, or be used intelligently to give real-time advice to the person and their carers (in the case of older people etc.) in a telehealth context. The storage of the data from the "body-monitors" has many applications (using data mining / big data analysis, etc.) to predict heart attacks or other health problems.
